PROFESSOR

Seong-Woon Yu, Ph.D.

Seong-Woon Yu, Ph.D. graduated from Seoul National University in the Department of Microbiology in 1999. From 2000, he had worked as a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Neurology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and moved to Michigan State University as an Assistant Professor in 2006. He joined the Department of Brain Sciences at DGIST in 2006 as an Associate Professor.

His research ares are on the molecular mechanisms of neuronal cell death and neurodegeneration. Through his research programs, he aims to better understand the pathogenic mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases, and thereby provide strategies for repairing damaged human central nervous system.
